Langbogenpfeil Regel bei der IFAA

Beitrag von mako »

Hallo Langbogner,

a) same weight for all arrows to be used by one archer during one day of competition
No! The arrow is a natural material and it would be very difficult to get the same weight for the same spine. There is no mention of weight in the rule, so there is no rule.
b) same weight for the point to be used by one archer during one day of competition .
The longbow rule (g) states that “any weight of pile may be used”. That means that if a longbow archer has 24 arrows for the tournament. He may have 24 piles of different weigh, even though they have to have a similar look.
c) same diameter of the arrow shaft for all arrows to be used by one archer during one day of competition.
Why? There is no rule stating this. The only rule on arrows for the LB is: Wood, natural feathers and be of same length, fletch and pile.
Final question:  Is it within the rules if an archer wants to shoot on different distances arrows of different weight ?
Why not! Historically the English longbow archers used various arrows depending on distance and penetration requirement. Again there is no rule stipulated and therefore an archer may do so if he/she wishes.
