So i have already made a hazel bow, 30# at 28 inches from a better stave than this one.
Im wondering if this stave is usable, it warped a lot during drying.
I was planning to shave a bit more wood and try steam bending it back a bit.
Any recommendations?
Hazel stave setback, advice needed

Uuh that looks
rough.. U should work more careful (If you shaped out the profile)
What is the thinest part of the side profile in this stave? Not the thickness, the width.
If its not to thin i would shape the straight half of the stave to a clear thickness (around 15mm, depends on what u want to pull at the end) and bend it with steam to the same reflex as the other side. A part of the reflex u will loose anyway in the tiller process.
Sorry for my english skills, i tried my best

Hallo and wellcome here, can you tell us a bit more about you?
Yes I think it is better to tiller the bow, when the ends(tips) are approximately at the same level, but it is always tricky to bend the bow in working sections.

Thanks to both of you for response.
Im from croatia, and where i live hazel is everywhere, so if it breaks i'll just get a better stave next time
I'm not really going by any measurements, just trying to get anything from this stave will be a win in my book.
I guess i'll get a rough profile in, and bend it a bit.
If it breaks i have a few other hazel staves, this one is by far the worst one so i dont really mind screwing it up
